Contours that tell stories

‘Contours that tell stories’ was initially created as an anniversary present for my parents who were born and raised in different parts of the UK. I wanted to make them something that showed parts of them coming together in a meaningful and interesting way.

Contour lines are not only visually hypnotic, they tell stories of the land. My mother who has Pakistani heritage was born in Hanham, Bristol and my father who has Italian heritage was born in Rosemarkie, Scotland – these two places tell stories of their childhood and their background as children of immigrants.
